Ripon Cathedral

Letter carver Charlotte Howarth

To mark the 1350th anniversary of the dedication of Ripon’s crypt by St Wilfrid, the cathedral commissioned Charlotte Howarth to create this memorial ledger stone using Stanhope Black.

Charlotte’s previous projects include the carving of the gilt lettering in to the oak for the Remember Me memorial portico entrance at St Paul’s Cathedral, dedicated to those who died as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Charlotte's work ranges from small carvings, memorials and larger sculptural pieces. In 2005 she set up Making Marks as a focus for her public commissions, memorials and private commissions.
